San Francisco by Kristin Billerbeck is a book with four stories that take place in San Francisco.

Grace In Action is a story about a single mom who is struggling to raise her son in an expensive area of town and the fireman her son Josh decides needs to be his dad. When Grace discovered she was pregnant her family, while being regular church goers, did not show her any grace and she was forced to leave and make her own way. Her son has become attached to Fireman Mike and Fireman Mike is finding himself attracted to Grace. Grace meanwhile, wants nothing to do with Mike’s God because of her past experieces. Can Grace accept that God loves her no matter her past?

The Landlord Takes a Bride is a funny story about Stefani and John. Stefani has had one goal for many years: acquire back the land that her family was coerced into selling. She is finally at the realization of that goal, when the house is bought out from under her. She moves in the other side of the duplex to rent with the goal of convincing John to sell, but what she doesn’t count on is the attraction she feels. She learns that John is out to shut down the company she works for. Can they put their differences aside?

Meet My Sister Tess is a wonderful book about taking care of family. Tess has taken care of her handicapped older brother Robby since her parent’s deaths and has decided to marry for security instead of love. Robby gets kicked out of his home and a new social worker who Tess finds herself attracted to. Clark, her fiance, doesn’t care much for Robby and is trying to force Tess to have her brother declared a ward of the state. Meanwhile, Greg, Robby’s new social worker, is trying to convince Tess that God will take care of her and that she doesn’t need to marry for anything less than love.

An Unbreakable Hope is a story that goes back to Grace In Action. Emily is every guys best friend, but never the bride. While at the wedding of some friends, she meets a man who is the opposite of everything she has ever thought she wanted in her safe and organized world. Emily likes her world well ordered and doesn’t take risks, while Darin has had a rough life and made his share of mistakes before coming to know Jesus. He has dedicated his life to reaching those kids who live in the rough parts of town and Emily is not sure she can accept that risk.
