Trouble Up Finny’s Nose
March 13th, 2008 . by LisaTrouble Up Finny’s Nose by Dana Mentink was a great read. It was a murder mystery with not just a few twists and turns and even had a little romance. Our story begins with Ruth Budge, a widow who has recently discovered her husband’s secret novel, who missed her hair appointment and discovered a dead body in the city’s fountain all in the same day. What follows is a great whodunit with lots of suspects and no easy answers. Add in the characters: Napoleon Prinn, the gallery owner; Dimple Dent, fortune writer extraordinaire; Alva Hernandez, the newspaper delivery boy; and Monk, the town caterer, not to mention some suspicious visitors to the city.
Napoleon has a mysterious new addition to his gallery that he wants Ruth, a photographer, to get pictures of at the reception to be held in its’ honor. While at the reception, Napoleon is murdered and there are lots of suspects…his twin brother, an art professor at the local university, and a local artist all had motivation. Oh! and don’t forget the baby…
