Wings of the Morning

February 21st, 2008 . by Lisa

Wings of the Morning by Lori Wick is the second book in the Kensington Chronicles series. It is the story of Victoria “Stormy” Simmons who was raised on her famous father’s ship and is now captain of her own ship, the “Aramis.”

While Stormy has a formidible reputation as a ships captain, once she is off the ship she is shy and awkward. She is befriended by a couple at a gathering in the city where she has a house and through them meets Captain Dallas Knight. As they begin to fall in love, an evil pirate that has been watching Stormy for some time decides to do something about it.

What happens next requires all of Stormy’s trust in God, as she is accused of piracy, put in prison, starved, and beaten. When all seems lost, God comes through as Dallas and Stormy both learn about trusting God in good times and in difficult ones.

This book was a good read, and had both main characters from the first book, Hawk and the Jewel and it was nice to see their progress as time has passed.
